Orienteering

Talofa lava blog world,
I just had my second best day at school doing Orienteering with two awsome coches named Leon and Irene. Today it was Pohatu class's second to last day of Orienteering with Leon in the morning at 9:00am. We also had another coach or a teacher with us named Irene timing us doing the Orienteering relay challenge. To do the Orienteering relay challenge we had to alwayas point the map north and then go to the controlls that were on the map. When we got to one of the controlls that were on the map we had to clip or stamp the clip cards. Then we had to swap the maps with our partners that were waiting for us once we were finished. Me and my parter had two turns each at looking for the controlls that Leon and Irene hided around the school. Me and my parter for the Orienteering relays came first under nine minutes. Next week will be our last day with Leon doing Orienteering with Pohatu class but next week it will be harder too find the controlls. Thats what makes me like this sport because it makes your brain work, makes you think, and its an exersizing activity.

Language Features

Talofa Lava blog world

This week I have been using a range of language features to help make my writing more descriptive. Some language features we have been talking about are similes, metaphors, personification and onomatopoeia.

These are my favourite sentences from my writing this week and it was about soccer. Our writing was about describing a moment in time. I wrote

Woooooooossssssshhhhhhh! The ball curved past my head like a bullet train zooming through the tunnels.

Pohatu class botanists

Hi blog world,
Today I learned that when you put a soil tablet into a plastic bowl or a cup the soil tablet will expand if you add water over it and it will turn into a soil mixture. It was fun watching the soil tablet expanding and seeing it break down like a tall building falling on the road.I was kind of hoping that the soil tablet would rise above the rim

To be continued.......

Foot Steps

                                                          Foot Steps

Banana my minions,

We were doing maths and then this girl from room 8 told us that room 6 and 8 are waiting for you. Then our teacher said '' stop what your doing and line up out side.So we quickly speed walked to the hall because if we ran then we would slip because it is raining today. But luckly we enter in the hall just in time before Kate just started. One thing that was challengeing was how to dance to the beat and danceing fast.I think Kate sould come back because I really like Michael Jackson and Kate tought me how to do some Michael Jackson moves. Here is video of us danceing

Teaching the juniors in Bishop Class

Talofa Lava blog world,

Today my class and I worked alongside Bishop class (Year 2/3) as part of a Tuakana/Teina session.

Tuakana means an older person or a person that you look up to, and Teina means a little kid or a junior.

First we discussed how to be effective Tuakana.I learned that I have to listen to other people even though they are younger then me, and to let other people have a turn of speaking.

The biggest challenge I came across was to trying to let the juniors do some work.

Next week I am looking forward to regrouping with my little buddies again and finishing our stop go animation.

Kai Toa Perfomance

Bonjure, and welcome to my blog post,

Today I was lucky enough to see Bernard Mangkahia perform for our school. His show was exhilarating and amazing because he was showing us what is resilience is in his own way.His way of telling what is resilience was mind blowing and it got in my brain in a instant.I Love the way how he was explaining how he imagined he had a cup in his head. The cup is what keeps your memory together and the water is all your memory's. Your cup should not be full instead your cup should be not full.

Thank you for listening to my blog post

Starting term two with skateboard

Talofa Lava and welcome back to term two.

Today I was learning how to ride a penny skateboard and how to stop it.There were two people that came to teach us how to ride a penny skateboard and their names were Aidan and Mikayla. They were amazing teachers and good examples of being a skater.First we had to grab a helmet that had skateboarding gear in it.Second we had to unbuckle the helmet with the gear in it and took the gear one by one. Third we had to unwrap the nee pads on your nee's.Forth we had to unwrap the elbow pads and you had to strap it around your elbow. Finally we had to strap on the wrist guard around your wrist so when we fall down our hands won't get hurt. But remember to put on your helmet at all time when you ride a Bike Scooter or Skateboard.

Thank you for looking at this blog post!!!!
